As Thursday's storm system slowly exits to the east, spotty showers and breezy winds linger for most of Friday in the Twin Cities.

Expect a much cooler day with highs hovering near 60 degrees and wind gusts of up to 40 mph.

The rain is expected to provide at least some relief for northern Minnesota wildfire efforts. Interactive maps show how far the fires have spread since the weekend.

The off-and-on showers wrap up overnight Saturday, when cloudy and breezy conditions are forecasted, and high temperatures are expected to be around the mid-50s.

There will be a little more sunshine on Sunday and it won't be as windy, with temperatures in the low 60s.

There could be more rain showers late Monday and early Tuesday.

High temperatures next week will stay below average, with an expected warming trend beginning towards Memorial Day weekend.
