MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A crash that closed a county road for several hours left one woman dead Sunday, according to Lakeville police.

The crash occurred at the intersection of Granada Avenue and County Road 46 around 5 p.m. Sunday.

A 34-year-old woman, the passenger of a Chevy Malibu involved in the crash, was pronounced dead at the scene. The Malibu was turning southbound into a shopping center when it was struck by a Chevy Suburban traveling eastbound.

The 34-year-old man driving the Malibu suffered severe injuries and was transported to a trauma center. The 29-year-old man driving the Suburban had minor injuries.

The crash closed County Road 46 to eastbound traffic from Highview Avenue to Cedar Avenue until about 8 p.m.

The name of the victim has not yet been released.
