MINNEAPOLIS — First lady Jill Biden visited the Twin Cities on Friday afternoon on a campaign stop.

The first lady made a stop at Nine Mile Brewing in Bloomington, where a St. Cloud State University student joined her on stage to discuss the Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.

Then the first lady, who is also a professor, traveled to her final destination: the annual Education Minnesota convention.

"Teaching isn't just a profession, it's a calling," she said. "You all know that and each of you has answered that call. You deserve a president who recognizes your service."

Protesters briefly interrupted the first lady to express their anger over the administration's support of Israel during the war in Gaza. A group called the "Minnesota Free Palestine Coalition" rallied outside.

Minnesota Republicans also weighed in, saying they're not surprised by the First Lady's visit based on Biden's performance in the polls.
