Crashes Reported Amid Snowy Friday Morning
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Snow was falling heavily over parts of the Twin Cities on Friday morning, and there were a number of accordant traffic accidents.
Traffic cameras from the Minnesota Department of Transportation showed a number of cars on the side of the road on westbound Interstate 94 between Highway 101 and Highway 241 in Rogers.
Also, the traffic maps showed some roads with red, indicating heavy traffic, though by 9:30 a.m. many thoroughfares seemed clean.
By late Friday morning, the State Patrol was reporting that there had been 59 crashes and an additional six vehicles off the road in the metro area, and another 34 crashes reported in the St. Cloud area.
The main point of good news came from a State Patrol spokesperson who reported no serious injuries in any crashes Friday morning. However, there were eight reported non-serious injuries.
