The patient was brought to the hospital via ambulance before a staff member found the bomb, a PVC pipe with end caps, and a fuse on their person.
According to police, the half-clothed woman entered the 7-Eleven on W. Olympic Boulevard and S. La Brea Avenue armed with a knife at around 9 p.m. As customers fled, she reportedly began to break items in the store and light a fire before barricading herself inside.
Before authorities arrived to the scene, the suspect is believed to have shot a female at the location. When deputies arrived, the man allegedly confronted them, prompting the shooting. Both the suspect and the female victim suffered non-life-threatening wounds.
