A Crawford County inmate was captured in a swamp behind the Grayling Country Club after escaping the county jail, the sheriff's office says.
By the time a home intruder was discovered, deputies said he had defecated in a trash can.
Authorities say several gas stations and convenience stores across northern Michigan have reported that the suspects would try to purchase the lottery tickets by typing in the credit card numbers without actually having the physical cards with them.
