Miguel Cabrera homered twice and drove in five runs, and Anibal Sanchez pitched eight sharp innings to lift the Detroit Tigers to a 13-1 victory over the Minnesota Twins on Thursday.
Victor Martinez, who usually hits behind Miguel Cabrera, is getting a day off.
"I can't give you an exact time frame, [but] it's certainly shorter than what they expect if he'd have had surgery," Ausmus said.

"It might have been the best outing we've had from him," Tigers manager Brad Ausmus said after Tuesday's win over the Twins.

"Alex is going to see Dr. Kyle Anderson ... tomorrow for another evaluation," Ausmus said. "We should know more tomorrow."
