Teen Killed In Sterling Heights Crash

An 18-year old Macomb Township girl is dead after an early Friday morning accident that may be weather related.

Sterling Heights police say the girl was thrown out of a Jeep that collided with another vehicle on Plumbrook Road between Schoenherr and Dodge Park about 5:30 a.m.

A preliminary investigation shows the driver of the Jeep lost control of his vehicle after passing a car on Plumbrook, crossed the center line and smashed into another vehicle.

The 18-year old who was killed was a passenger in the Jeep. Her name hasn't been released. The 18-year old Jeep driver and the driver of the other vehicle were taken to the hospital. Police say they have non-life threatening injuries.

A number of accidents were reported Friday morning as a result of snow-covered and slick roads. Police say drivers should slow down.
