Charlie Langton: Democrats Wanted More From Snyder's State Of State Address

In a shocking development (insert sarcasm here), the Democrats were less than thrilled with Governor Snyder's State of the State address. Charlie spoke with Senate Minority Leader Gretchen Whitmer who discussed several items. She was disappointed that Governor Snyder didn't discuss improving education state-wide and discussed her view that cyber schools, which Snyder did discuss, have no proven track record for success while sending tax dollars to out-of-state cyber school companies.  She believes it's better to reinvest any government surplus dollars back into education and discussed the 20-20 Plan which would cover the college costs of every Michigan student to attend any public institution in Michigan by closing current Michigan tax loopholes. And while she is in favor of replacing the personal property tax, she wants details for how the Governor plans to replace that revenue. Finally, she gives Snyder a C and wants 2012 to be about doing something bold!
