Blue Cross Blue Shield Of Michigan #MIKidsCan All-Stars Named

Last month, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan challenged kids to get healthy and stay active by taking the pledge to Train Like an All-Star and help celebrate the arrival of baseball season.
From March 9 to March 31, a total of 1,272 Michigan kids took the pledge and joined the #MIKidsCan Train Like an All-Star challenge by doing a series of healthy activities each week. By then end of the challenge, each child completed a total of 175 jumping jacks, ate 21 servings of fruits and veggies, completed 70 push-ups and gulped down 280 oz. of water! We call that a home run!
Six grand prize winners were then randomly selected from those who took the pledge. These winners will receive four tickets to join the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan All-Star Team for Kids' Opening Day at Comerica Park on April 19.
Although the official challenge is over, you can still practice the healthy habits from the BCBSM All-Star Training guide all season long!
• Week 1: To get to first base, jump like a star. Complete 25 jumping jacks per day. Activities like jumping make your bones stronger, and are especially important for children and adolescents.
• Week 2: Make your way to second base, where you will eat like a star. Eat three servings of fruits or vegetables a day. People who eat more fruits and vegetables, as part of an overall healthy diet, are likely to have reduced risk of some chronic diseases.
• Week 3: On to third base, where you will throw like a star. Complete 10 push-ups per day. Muscle-strengthening activities, including push-ups and lifting weights, make your muscles stronger.
• Week 4: Home plate! You need to stay hydrated. Drink 5 cups (40 oz.) of water per day. Drinking water or other drinks with few or no calories can help you maintain a healthy weight.
