1 killed, 2 seriously wounded in Greater Grand Crossing shooting

One person was killed and two others were seriously wounded in a shooting late Friday morning in the Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood on the South Side of Chicago.

Police said, shortly before noon, several people got out of a car and started shooting at a 31-year-old man in the 300 block of West 75th Street.

The man was taken to St. Bernard Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. 

Two other men who were nearby also were wounded in the shooting. A 40-year-old man was shot in the flank and was taken to St. Bernard in serious condition. A 48-year-old man was shot in the leg and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in serious condition.

More than 60 evidence markers were visible on the street and sidewalk after the shooting.

No one was in custody Friday evening.

Area 1 detectives were investigating.
