Vehicle Owners Find Burglary Suspect's Blood In Their Trucks

DENVER (CBS4) - Denver police are looking for suspects in an attempted burglary that took place inside an apartment building garage in the Park Hill neighborhood.

The crime took place early Friday morning at East 40th Avenue and Albion Street near the intersection of Interstate 70 and Colorado Boulevard and a short chase took place afterwards.

The chase ended at the Colorado Boulevard onramp with a crash. Two suspects ran off and one was captured.

Officers told residents in the area to stay indoors at approximately 7 a.m. while they cleared the scene.

A CBS4 crew interviewed a man later in the morning near the garage who said it appears the suspects broke into his vehicle and a neighbor's vehicle.

"I turned around and said, 'Oh someone broke into my truck,'" Kurt Brown said. "So I opened the door and there's all kinds of fresh blood all over the truck, from the front to the middle to the back. And (my neighbor) opened his, and he said 'My God, there's blood in my truck, too."

So far it's not clear why one of the suspects may have bled in the vehicles.

Police are also investigating a burglary at a marijuana dispensary a few blocks away that happened around the same time. So far they are not saying the incidents are connected.

The marijuana dispensary is located at the intersection of East 40th and Jackson Street.
