Two teens have been arrested in a string of robberies that happened Wednesday morning in West Ridge and Rogers Park. CBS 2 Investigator Megan Hickey reports.
Officers located the 17-year-old and placed him in custody. Two firearms and suspected narcotics were also recovered.
"Unfortunately, this kind of rhetoric and instances are so fresh in people's minds, that everyone just started running to the back of restaurant."
The bar posted a picture of the broken window on Instagram and Twitter with the caption, "Nothing like a homophobic guy with a hammer yelling anti-gay slurs at customers and threatening them to shake up the night."
Police said just before 6 p.m., the suspect approached a man and woman as they were getting out of their car and started yelling homophobic slurs.
"I would like a big enough space that we can host a shelter for 100 new arrivals. They have this goal to work and provide for themselves."
The victims' families will split the $16 million settlement equally.
Chicago police said the boy was found with two gunshot wounds to the upper left leg and lower right leg.
Ronald Browning, 74, is facing multiple felony charges of theft and burglary.
