City leaders said they're delaying the move-in to hold another community meeting to answer questions.
The city wanted to bring asylum seekers to the school six days ago, but the date was pushed back.
City officials said the old Wadsworth Elementary School is now set to be turned into a migrant shelter before the end of the month. CBS 2's Lauren Victory reports.
"I would like a big enough space that we can host a shelter for 100 new arrivals. They have this goal to work and provide for themselves."

The Mayor's office said the capacity issue at temporary shelters is what drove the decision to open up a facility at the former Wadsworth Elementary School.

The public is encouraged to donate an unwrapped toy for children ages two to 12 years old.
