Two people were shot in the 6800 block of South Emerald at about 9:30 a.m. Monday, resulting in the death of one, Chicago Police confirmed.

As of early Monday morning, the most recent fatal shooting happened about 10:30 p.m. Sunday in the South Shore neighborhood.
