Standoff at Wrentham Motel ends in death

A tense police standoff at a Wrentham motel has ended with a shooting suspect dead.
The Norfolk district attorney's offices says state and local police responded to the Arbor Inn Motel on Thursday night in an effort to find 34-year-old Christopher Bean, who was wanted on an attempted murder charge for a nonfatal shooting in Brockton earlier this week.
Authorities say while police were outside the apartment, Bean telephoned a friend to say goodbye.
After repeated attempts to contact Bean, police entered his room at about 1:25 a.m. on Friday where he was found dead of a single gunshot wound to the head.
A gun and one spent shell casing were found near his body. There was no one else in the room.
An autopsy is planned.
