The thought of going an entire day without political campaigning out respect of those who lost their lives on 9/11/2001 was a nice and extremely appropriate thought. However, disappointing to many, it wasn't the respectful day totally without political bickering that was expected by many who were watching and listening.
On Monday, the Treasury Department sold 553,846,153 shares in AIG on Monday, turning an $18 billion profit on the $32.50 a share price.
The media keeps suggesting that the racism regarding candidates has to do with whites not wanting to vote for a black man, even though Barack Obama won a presidential election with a great amount of white support in 2008. What the media isn't talking about is the NBC-Wall Street survey results which say that there are basically no black supporters for the Caucasian candidate, Mitt Romney, in 2012.
Mitt Romney seems to be drinking the same Kool-Aid as some of his nuttiest supporters. Mitt Romney is silent... and occasionally joins in as his endorsers make increasingly outrageous statements against the president.
The most ridiculously annoying aspect of the Democratic political run for offices in 2012 is the incredibly long line of leftist millionaires who continually spew extreme hate and venom on the wealthy. Beyond having to "share the wealth", now Democrats are saying it's "never get the wealth".
The early returns are in and, according to the Neilson rating company, the Democrats beat the Republicans... and the NFL.
The Republican and Democratic National Conventions of 2012 – yawn-per-yawn – have to be the most uninspiring political conventions in recent history.
Tonight, when Vice President Biden and President Obama address the country the question before them is an obvious one: are we better off than we were four years ago? The answer is equally obvious: YES!
Sitting in the Time Warner Cable Arena last night I was struck by how different the Democratic National Convention was from the Republican event last week. Unlike the Republicans in Tampa, Democrats focused on the fight to preserve the middle class and the American Dream.
Many Marylander's eyes were on Charlotte on Tuesday night as Governor Martin O'Malley took the stage at the Democratic National Convention.
In an odd turn of events, the Republicans in Tampa nominated real life versions of their cartoon versions of Kerry and Gore. Republicans thought John Kerry should be criticized for changing positions. But Kerry is not in the same league as Romney who ran as a pro-choice candidate and promised to do more for gay rights than Ted Kennedy.
It is strange that famous people think the world gives a hoot about their political views. Last week, a good number of famed and fortuned people spoke their anti-Republican and anti-Romney prejudiced-minds regarding the Republican National Convention.
Mitt Romney's economic plan basically says if you make $22.50 an hour with benefits, you make too much money; and if you make $22.5 million, then you pay too much in taxes.
Last night, Clint Eastwood produced the most bizarre and uncomfortable moments in modern convention history. If Mitt Romney cannot get his campaign right. If he cannot even get the things that he can control right, how can he make the case that he can run the country?
As the media positively and glowingly report high-profile presidential fundraising events for President Barack Obama and the Democratic National Committee, they report on GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney's and the Republican's big-dollar fundraising gatherings in and around Tampa, Florida during the Republican National Convention with total suspicion and even worse.
Judith Freeman, a novelist from California, claims the Romney family owes her family $25,000 for a long unsettled debt tracing back to their Mormon relatives in the 19th century Arizona wilderness.
While Paul Ryan is entitled to his own opinions, he is not entitled to his own facts. He lied to America about Medicare. He lied to America about the debt commission. He really lied to America about the stimulus and America's debt rating.
The speech gave much of what Ann and Mitt Romney have been trying to reveal about themselves throughout the misleading negative campaigning of 2012 which has put them on some imaginary pedestal due to Mitt Romney's business success and extreme wealth. They, too, like most American families, have obviously experienced life's uncertain challenges intertwined with their successes.
As Hurricane Isaac threatens the Gulf again, we will see if Katrina and Isaac serve as bookends of GOP hostility to federal disaster relief. An odd stance for a party that claims to "choose life" while watching people die in natural disasters rather than provide an adequate response.
Ron Paul's impact on the future of America and how the nation remembers his involvement with the GOP presidential campaign process of 2012 is his and his alone. By saying that he cannot fully support the Republican Party's choice and raising the discontentment of his supporters, he is on the verge of being best remembered as the presidential election spoiler – or attempted spoiler – of 2012.
When Mitt Romney cracked a joke about nobody having to check his birth certificate to know that he was born in Michigan on Friday, the leftist critics went wild. It was like they were desperate to latch on to anything other than the issues now that the Todd Akin story is already burning out on them.
What's going on at the Republican National Convention?
It isn't just Republican Members of Congress that have junk theories they attach to pseudo-science. Kevin D. Williamson, a conservative writer for the National Review, thinks based on their offspring, genetics and "evolutionary biology" Barack Obama should have ovaries and that Mitt Romney should owns him in this election, "Like a Boss".
Republicans are kept accountable for their own misspeaks and actions. Unlike the Democrats' life jacket being tossed out to a sinking politician by the Party, when a Republican politician does the inexcusable, the Republican Party throws him an anchor – and that's how it should be.
