The president began his current campaign trip in Los Angeles Tuesday, attempting to make up for time lost while largely avoiding the Southern California stronghold for Democratic donor during last year's strikes by the Writers Guild of America and SAG-AFTRA.

After delivering remarks at an official event in Culver City where he discussed the cancelation federal student loans to 153,000, Biden departed from Los Angeles on Air Force One and arrived at San Francisco International Airport around 3 p.m. He was greeted when he disembarked by Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi and San Francisco Mayor London Breed.

He and Pelosi were then flown via the Marine One helicopter to San Francisco's Marina Green before appearing at two private campaign events in the city. The first event took place at 4:15 p.m. -- later revealed to be at the home of investor and venture capitalist John Doerr -- and the second began at 6:45 p.m. Wednesday evening.

While the White House has not released any specific information regarding the two campaign events, the second event is reportedly a dinner hosted by businessman Gordon Getty, real estate magnate George Marcus and his wife Judy. The dinner will also include Pelosi as a featured guest.

It was later confirmed that the venue for the dinner fundraiser was Getty's home.

On Thursday, the president will make an appearance at another private campaign event in Los Altos Hills before departing the region in the afternoon, according to the White House. On Thursday morning, the location of 2:45 p.m. event was confirmed to be the home of real estate developer Robert Klein. He and his wife Danielle are the hosts.

Earlier in the day, President Biden met with Yulia and Dasha Navalnaya, the widow and daughter of Russian dissident Aleksey Navalny who at an Arctic penal colony last week, to offer his condolences for their loss.

There was a small pro-Palestinian protest in San Francisco's Alta Plaza Park after President Biden's arrival as activists called for a cease fire in Gaza and for the president to end aid to Israel.

A larger group of pro-Palestinian supporters gathered Wednesday evening, protesting in Pacific Heights just blocks from where the Biden campaign event was being held.

There were several major protests when the president last visited San Francisco during APEC, including the shutdown of the Bay Bridge during the morning commute on Nov. 16 that led to dozens of arrests.

President Biden departed from San Francisco International Airport shortly before 4 p.m. Thursday en route to Joint Base Andrews.
