The shooter who walked into Robb Elementary School and opened fire has been identified as 18-year-old Salvador Ramos.
Past shootings targeted worshippers during a Sunday sermon, shoppers at a Walmart, students on a high school campus and drivers on a highway.
As a teen he was accused, tried and convicted of opening fire on a young girl and her new boyfriend. On March 21 officials confirmed that Chad Padilla died.
Police responded to an active shooter at Oxford High School at 12:51 p.m. local time, according to Michael McCabe, the Oakland County undersheriff. The suspect was taken into custody within five minutes of the initial 911 call.
Mansfield ISD organized a town hall meeting to reassure the community that it's taken steps to improve safety.

Pettitt's sister told CBS 11 last week, the shooting didn't happen in his classroom, but Pettitt came to help break up the fight and got hit.

The teenager in custody, accused of opening fire at Timberview High School in Arlington on October 6 has been moved to another facility.
According to police, the 15-year-old student injured is in critical condition in the ICU. A 25-year-old teacher is in good condition.
Students hid in classrooms, hallways and closets after a lockdown command came over the intercom.
"It is so important that the Timberview High School community have time to heal, and so, there will be no school for Timberview High School on Thursday," Principal Derrell Douglas said.
Police said a student from South Grand Prairie High School was arrested for threatening that campus.
The "all clear" has been given at Timberview High School in Arlington after an active shooter situation Wednesday morning, but the search continues for a suspected teenaged gunman.
"It is illegal for the shooter to either possess or to have purchased the gun that was used in this crime," Gov. Abbott said.
