It happened around 10:30 p.m. on Monday, about 200 miles west of Fort Worth.
Although the earthquake's epicenter was over 200 miles from Dallas-Fort Worth, some of the aftershocks could be felt.
Preliminary reports rate the quakes as 3.0 and 3.2 magnitude.
The roughly 4.7 to 4.8 magnitude earthquake shook New York and New Jersey, even as far north as the Boston area.
