A woman was fatally shot while inside a vehicle early Sunday morning, and another victim is in the hospital, the Fort Worth Police Department said.

At about 3:45 a.m., officers were called to an apartment complex in the 1800 block of E. Robert Street in response to the shooting. Officers said a woman was found dead from gunshot wounds.

Through the preliminary investigation, detectives found that the woman who died and another shooting victim were at the complex to fight the other women present. As the vehicle, driven by the shooting victim, approached the group, unknown suspects fired multiple shots, striking the vehicle and both victims, police said.

The women and the suspects fled the scene.

Police said another gunshot victim showed up at the hospital to be treated and is believed to be connected to this case.

The names of those involved in the incident have not been released at this time.

Fort Worth PD said the investigation is ongoing, and the homicide unit was notified. No arrests have been made.
