Rain Chances For The Start Of The Weekend

I've got some rain chances in the forecast.  Here's the breakdown of when the best shots of rain arrive.

THURSDAY

Thursday will be very similar to what we saw on Wednesday.  Temperatures in the mid 90s with a 10% chance of a pop up storm in the afternoon.

STORM SYSTEM COMES IN FROM THE WEST

There is an area of low pressure just off the Texas coast.  The low was investigated by the hurricane hunter plane Wednesday afternoon, but there was not enough evidence of a closed circulation to warrant this becoming a tropical system.  It will spread more tropical moisture into South Texas tomorrow.  That moisture will be drawn northward by an upper level low over the four corners area.  That upper level low will be the reason we have decent rain chances Friday and Saturday.

RAIN CHANCES

THURSDAY - very isolated if anything.

FRIDAY - Showers and thunderstorms will mainly develop during the middle part of the day.  Heavy rain will be possible for a few locations.  Not everyone will see rain, but if you find yourself under a storm, it will rain really hard.

SATURDAY - Rain chances continue thru the day on Saturday.  Favored area of rain will be east of I-35, but anyone could see some rain on Saturday.

SUNDAY - looking mainly dry for Sunday, although I can't rule out an isolated storm in our eastern counties.

MONDAY (LABOR DAY) - No rain chances expected on Monday and temperatures will be in the upper 90s.  It will be a bit breezy, so there could be a chop on area lakes.
