DALLAS (CBSDFW) -- Dallas Police are investigating after a man died while being attended to by paramedics in East Dallas on Wednesday night.
Just after 10 p.m., police received multiple calls reporting a man rolling around on the ground, removing his clothing and yelling "help me."
Two Dallas Fire paramedics and four police officers responded to the scene at the intersection of Peavy Road and Carnegie Drive. They found the man sitting on the curb at 1700 Peavy Road.
Police say the subject was handcuffed for everyone's safety as paramedics began to render assistance.
Soon after, the man began exhibiting indications of medical distress. Paramedics administered CPR, and the man was transported to nearby Doctors Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Police say an independent witness, who lives in the area, observed the incident and believes the officers took appropriate action to aid the male.
A Special Investigations Unit is investigating the incident.
