DALLAS (KRLD) - Homeowners like them... thieves apparently love them too...

"Now you can light up your entire home with just one light. Finally, you can have decorative lighting where it was impossible before. Just plug it in, and you'll have thousands of colorful stars everywhere. It's so simple."

Outdoor laser Christmas projectors are so popular they're hard to get. Mansfield homeowner Tate Baird found out they're even harder to keep, when his were stolen. Baird says his neighbors told him the theft is no surprise...

"There were several responses that they won't get them for that reason... just knowing that if you get them, and I didn't know, that if you get them, they're most likely going to get stolen."

Baird captured the theft on home security cameras and hopes police can identify the thieves.
