FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) — Various sections of I-35W will be closed overnight this weekend starting on Thursday.

The closures are part of the North Tarrant Express 35W project. The $1.4 billion project includes changes to a 6.5-mile stretch of I-35W, north of I-30 to north of I-820, that's currently ranked the eighth most-congested roadway in Texas. The changes — including reconstruction of the main lanes and the addition of TEXpress lanes — are slated to be complete in 2018.

Here's the list of closures and redirects for the next few days.

Thursday, Aug. 27, from 9 p.m. through 5 a.m. Friday, Aug. 28:

• All lanes of  I-820 West, west of Riverside, will be closed. Traffic will be redirected to Basswood Boulevard.
• The direct connectors from I-35W South to I-30 East and West will be closed. Traffic will be redirected to Rosedale Street.

Friday, Aug. 28, from 9 p.m. through 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 29:

• The direct connector from I-35W South to I-820 East will be closed. Traffic will be redirected to FM 156.
• There will be rolling full-freeway closures on I-820 East, west of I-35W.
• The direct connector from I-35W North to I-820 West will be closed. Traffic will be redirected to Basswood Boulevard.

Saturday, Aug. 29, from 9 p.m. through 10 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 30:

• All lanes of  I-35W North frontage road at Fossil Creek Boulevard will be closed.
• The off-ramp from I-820 West to Riverside Drive will be closed. Traffic will be redirected to the previous exit at Haltom Road/Beach Street.
• The direct connector from I-35W North to I-820 West will be closed. Traffic will be redirected to Basswood Boulevard.

Sunday, Aug. 30, from 9 p.m. through 5 a.m. Monday, Aug. 31:

• All lanes of I-820 East at the I-35W interchange will be closed. Traffic will be redirected to Meacham Boulevard.
• The direct connectors from I-35W North and South to I-820 East will be closed. Traffic will be redirected to Meacham Boulevard.
• The direct connectors from I-35W South to I-30 East and West will be closed. Traffic will be redirected to Rosedale Street.
