East Dallas Shooting Victim Expected To Live

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) – Police say a man shot in the head in east Dallas Saturday is expected to survive.

Witnesses say a man shot the victim in front of a business on East Grand Avenue. They told CBS11 the victim is dating the shooter's former girlfriend.

Two of the victim's friends reportedly threw him into the back of their car and drove him a short distance to Dan's Pawn Shop on the intersection of East Grand and Fairview.

Peter Ramirez was selling hardware from a tent and watched the two men jump out of the car and scream for police.

"It was nerve-wracking", he said.

Police say the victim was still conscious and speaking when they arrived. He was taken by ambulance to Baylor hospital.

A police spokesman said there is still no clear explanation or suspect in the shooting. The investigation is ongoing and nobody has been identified.
