DENTON (AP) – A 47-year-old Sanger woman is accused of killing her mother-in-law in a slashing attack at the victim's Denton County home.

Vicki Davis, also known as Vicki Bartlett, was in the Denton County Jail on Friday on a murder charge. Bond was $250,000 for Davis, who was arrested Thursday following announcement of her indictment. Jail records did not indicate an attorney for Davis.

Investigators say 57-year-old Marilyn Hoehn bled to death after her throat was cut.

The Denton Record-Chronicle reported Friday that Davis and the victim's son were going through a divorce at the time of the slaying.

Texas Ranger Tracy Murphree says Davis had been a suspect early in the investigation but was not arrested until more evidence recently was uncovered. Details were not released.
