An Ozone Action Day is in effect due to high surface-level pollution and a lack of atmospheric mixing. It is advised that those with respiratory or heart-related illnesses limit outdoor exposure on Monday.

Not everyone will see storms or even rain, but those who do may encounter gusty winds, small hail, lightning and even flooding. Remember safety first, and when thunder roars, head indoors.

While earlier storms produced up to 3" of rain in some areas and caused brief airport ground stops, the worst of the activity in the metroplex is beginning to weaken.

Forecasters say additional rounds of showers and thunderstorms are expected overnight and into midweek, with the potential for more widespread rain and flooding concerns.

A few isolated storms will be possible early Tuesday and linger through the afternoon. The bigger rain chances arrive late Tuesday night through Wednesday. This is due to a disturbance in the desert and a dryline in West Texas. Since the grounds are saturated, there is a risk of isolated to scattered flooding.

After Wednesday, there will be a lull in rain chances, but don't let your guard down; another round of storms is forecast for this weekend.
