After chilly Thursday morning, warm winter weather returns to North Texas

Morning lows at DFW dipped down to 34°,  just above freezing.on Thursday The last freeze was five days ago, when on the first day of the new month, we started that morning in the low 20s.

Despite the near-freezing start,  dry air and a west wind warmed North Texas all the way up to the low 70s by afternoon. We'll be in the upper 70s on Friday as we close the work week and get into Super Bowl weekend. Slightly cooler on Saturday after a weak cold front comes through late Friday: no rain, barely any clouds. Highs will still be about 10 degrees above normal. There will be some clouds on Sunday, but just awesome weather.
