Cooler Weather On the Way and Some Rain Chances for North Texas
ENJOY THE 70s NOW, NO MORE 70s IN THE FORECAST FOR AWHILE…
As expected morning rain has given way to sunshine and temperatures in the 70s. As of 2pm, DFW has seen a high of 74 degrees! Cooler air will take over tonight as winds shift to the north. In fact, by morning temperatures will start in the upper 30s and low 40s.
SEASONABLE WEATHER FOR THE REST OF THE WEEK…
Average high for this time of year is right around 60 degrees. And that is where we will stay as we head into the weekend. It also looks like Saturday will be a wet day for many of us. Here is what is taking shape…
There is an upper level low sitting out west over California and Nevada. This will track toward Texas Friday night into Saturday. The exact position of this low is a little uncertain. Some models take the core of it into South Texas while other take it closer to us here in North Texas. The southern track would limit the amount of rain that would fall and lead to more lighter rain. If the track were closer to us we could be in store for heavier rain and downpours. In either case, severe weather doesn't look to be a problem. The favored solution is for the track to be a little farther south which would mean more of a light to moderate rain at times starting Friday night and continuing into Saturday.
