Back To Work, Back To Heat
For the third night in a row you could have gone to bed with the windows open. It was down in the mid-60's when the day started. In fact the temperature dropped so fast last night that it got to 68° before 1am. That means that YESTERDAY we tied a record low after all. On Saturday morning the low at DFW was 69°, one degree above that.
Notice that I wrote "before 1am". Record keeping started in 1898, before the advent of daylight saving time. All records are kept in standard time.
Morning clouds kept temperatures in check. The noon temperature was only 81°. By 3pm in wasn't quite 90° at DFW. Sunshine to the west had warmed us up to the mid-90's in Breckenridge (Stephens County):
This evening it'll be humid but still reasonable for a night in July:
Back to work on Monday and back to July temperatures. A south wind and sunshine (and warmer start, in the mid-70's) gets us into the upper 90's. Monday just might be the coolest day of the work week ahead:
I'll have the full forecast for you at 5:30p on CBS11. -Jeff Ray
