Maria Elena Salinas on El Paso shooting

Hispanic Americans say they are fearful and anxious in the wake of the mass shooting in El Paso. A gunman opened fire inside a Walmart and killed 22 people on Saturday. A racist manifesto posted online before the shooting claimed, “This attack is a response to the Hispanic invasion of Texas.” Since the shooting, President Trump has come under scrutiny for his use of the word “invasion” to describe migrants. His critics have linked his language to the manifesto. Our newest contributor, Maria Elena Salinas, joins "CBS This Morning" to discuss why the attack hit the Hispanic community so hard.

El Paso grieves after mass shooting

In the days after the lethal shooting at a Walmart in El Paso, Texas, families of the victims are only beginning to heal from the loss of their loved ones. “The whole city just feels broken and at a loss for words,” one mourner said. Memorial services have already begun, but more are planned for this weekend. On Wednesday, El Paso will hold a community memorial service to honor the victims and offer a place of healing and support. Manuel Bojorquez reports.
