Temperatures in the Pittsburgh area could hit 50 degrees today

Temperatures in the Pittsburgh area could hit 50 degrees today as the region continues to see a warm-up.

Today will be the warmest day we've seen in Pittsburgh since February 4. Morning temperatures dipped to the low 30s.

Noon temperatures should be in the low 40s with temperatures hovering near 50 degrees from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunset by the way is at 6:07.

We will see the most clouds for the day right as the sun is setting. It will be a little breezy this afternoon with wind speeds at around 10 mph coming in out of the southwest. Obviously, this will bring your comfort level down a bit if you aren't in a hoody.

This month hasn't exactly been warm with our average monthly temperature now -1.4° below normal.  We will finish the month out with a bunch of seasonally warm or near-average days so we will probably end up with the month seeing temperatures around 1° below average.  It's been fairly unusual for us even to see a single month below average.  This would make back-to-back months. That's impressive.

Looking ahead, our next rain chance comes on Tuesday morning with places north of I-80 seeing a snow chance.

Passing rain showers will also be possible Tuesday afternoon but will only be isolated.
