Reward Increased In Animal Cruelty Case

REDSTONE TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- The reward has now more than doubled for information leading to the arrest of whoever left a dog for dead in a Fayette County cemetery.

The beagle terrier mix was found emaciated the week before Christmas at the Lafayette Memorial Park in Redstone Township. The animal had been starved and shot around a dozen times with a pellet gun.

A Good Samaritan took the dog to the Pet Adoption League in Yukon where the dog was treated and named Star Noel.

Star Noel is now being nursed by to health by a foster family in Jeannette.

In a few weeks, she'll be placed in her permanent home with a family in New Alexandria.

The Pet Adoption League of Yukon initially offered a $200 for information leading to the arrest of whoever hurt the animal. Now, the sister of the woman who is fostering Star Noel added another $300, bringing the total to $500.

If you have any information, contact the Pet Adoption League in Yukon or state police in Uniontown.
