What is PNC Park's bag policy? Here's what to know before the Pirates home opener.
The Pirates are bringing baseball back to Pittsburgh. Here's what fans going to PNC Park for need to know about the bag policy.
The Pirates will play the Baltimore Orioles in their home opener scheduled for 4:12 p.m. on Friday. They'll play the Orioles twice more before hosting the San Diego Padres for a three-game series.
PNC Park's bag policy
Each fan is allowed to bring one bag into the ballpark, but it has to be soft-sided and 16 inches by 16 inches by 8 inches or smaller. PNC Park says bags larger than that won't be allowed in. All bags are also subject to a search.
Exceptions include diaper bags and bags carried for medical reasons. Both have to be checked by security.
What isn't allowed in the ballpark
PNC Park says fans aren't allowed to bring "hazardous or disruptive items" like balloons, speakers, drones, electric scooters, fireworks, hoverboards, inflatable balls, laser pointers and motorcycle helmets. Weapons also aren't allowed. Guests can bring cameras and video recorders for personal use, but they can't pack them in any hard-sided cases.
Guests are allowed to bring bottled water and food. Water bottles have to be 24 ounces or smaller and have to be clear, plastic, sealed and disposable. People can't bring any glass bottles, cans or alcoholic beverages.
Fans can bring umbrellas, but the Pirates say umbrellas can only be opened when it's raining.
