Pittsburgh Police K9 Edo To Be Put Down After Experiencing Illness

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Pittsburgh Police K9 Edo is ending his service with the bureau.
Pittsburgh Police announced on Saturday that Edo will have to be put down "due to illness." Police did not specify what type of illness Edo was suffering.
A procession will be held today with the PBP Bomb Squad, SWAT and K9 units to honor Edo's service.
Edo served as a K9 officer with Pittsburgh Police since 2013 and worked in explosives detection.
