Local Principal Takes Stand Against Saggy Pants

MONESSEN (KDKA) -- The principal at Monessen Middle School is taking a stand against sagging pants.

When students show up at school wearing their pants that way, Principal Sherry Castaneda gives them several choices – go home, take an in-school suspension or choose a belt or a piece of string provided by the school to hold up their pants.

Castaneda didn't want to appear on camera, but she does have supporters.

"That's a great idea because I don't even know how they [walk] like that with their pants down past their butt," Russ Musgrove said.

With the weather getting warmer, the principal says the next problem will be with the girls who show up with their skirts too short.

The same rules apply.
