Latrobe Woman Charged In Boyfriend's Murder

LATROBE (KDKA) — A woman from Latrobe is now facing homicide charges in the shooting death of her boyfriend.

Lorenza Swiger is being held in the Westmoreland County Jail without bond.

Police say Swiger called 911 early this morning after shooting Mark Androstic, 43, at a home along East 1st Avenue in Latrobe shortly before midnight.

Androstic suffered a gunshot wound to his chest. He was rushed to Excela Latrobe Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

According to the criminal complaint, Swiger was hysterical when officers arrived at the home -- telling them her boyfriend had been shot. The document goes on to state that while Swiger did not admit to shooting Androstic, she did tell officers that the gun was in her hands when it went off.
