Get Marty: Ticket Deal Causes Frustration For Some Circus-Goers

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- The "Greatest Show On Earth" turned out to be a great big frustration for a number of folks trying to go to the circus this week.

Many of those folks reached out to KDKA and Get Marty.

"I was promised circus tickets for $4.75 and I didn't get them," says Jennifer Ferris of Pittsburgh.

Ferris and a number of others bought tickets for the Ringling Bros. and Barnum and Bailey Circus in town this weekend.

Folks bought the tickets on a Ticketmaster site offering "buy one get one free" deals.

When the transactions were completed, folks were only charged a $4.75 service fee and not for the price of the ticket.

"I called Ticketmaster and they told me the $4.75 was a onetime offer," says Jillian Giles of Pittsburgh.

But, nearly a week later, Ticketmaster sent folks an email suggesting a mistake was made, and they would have to pay the full price of the tickets.

"My friends told me to call Marty Griffin," says Jennifer Ferris.

Ticketmaster was very cooperative and agreed to give all the folks who came to KDKA'S Get Marty all of the tickets they requested with only the $4.75 service fee.

Officials with Ticketmaster saying: "This was a 'buy one get one' promotion and some fans were not charged correctly at the time of purchase. Ticketmaster makes every effort to make sure fans get tickets, and we are committed to making things right for fans and have taken care of those fans that have contacted us."

Within a few hours of sending out that email, Ticketmaster took care of all of the fans who reached out to Get Marty.
