A summer-like air mass continues to build into the Delaware Valley this weekend with above average temperatures.
The best weather of the holiday weekend gets underway today.
Expect more sunshine around on Sunday and Memorial Day with highs near 80 on Sunday and mid 80s on Monday.

After an incredibly active and destructive day of weather on Thursday that included severe thunderstorms, large hail and even a possible tornado, thing have calmed down and conditions are now relatively quiet.
In the wake of the severe weather, conditions will slowly improve as we begin the holiday weekend.

Thursday will start off with scattered showers and some thunderstorms. By midday, we should see some sunshine before another brief round later today into this evening as you make your way home.
The combination of a strong disturbance and more sunshine will increase the chance of scattered, but locally strong to severe thunderstorms Thursday. We are in a "Slight Risk" for severe weather in Philadelphia and nearby suburbs, meaning that any thunderstorm could produce strong, damaging winds and the threat of hail.
An active pattern through the end of the week will eventually give way to a pleasant holiday weekend, with warming expected each day and increasing amounts of sunshine.

Today, a warm front will trigger showers and even a thunderstorm. Temperatures will again be mild, into the upper 70s.
A warm front will move through the Delaware Valley Wednesday. There is a chance of some scattered morning showers, but showers and thunderstorms will peak in the afternoon and evening. Highs Thursday will be at or above average in the mid to upper 70s.
High temperatures return back to average to slightly above average with highs in the mid 70s.
