Dianne Feinstein was the longest-serving woman in the U.S. Senate as well as the longest-serving senator from California.
Dianne Feinstein was the oldest member of the Senate and set to retire at the end of her term.
"I hope to return to the Senate later this month," the retiring senator said in a statement.
