By Bill Wine

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Fifty Shades of Grey remains dominant at the box office.

On this Oscar weekend, the erotic drama earned an estimated $23-million, giving it another first-place win at multiplexes.

The runner-up remained the same as well. Kingsman: The Secret Service took in $18-million.

Third place went to the holdover, The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water, which totaled just under $16-million.

The weekend's three new releases – the Kevin Costner inspirational sports drama, McFarland, USA, at $11-million; the high school comedy, The Duff, also at $11-million; and the comedy sequel, Hot Tub Time Machine 2, with $6-million, took three of the next four spots.

Meanwhile, American Sniper, by far the most commercially successful of the Oscar contenders, earned another $10-million, good for sixth place.

Overall, industry-wide totals were slightly ahead of those of a year ago.
