There's Always Next Year: Phillies Fans Reflect On The End Of The Season
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Many Phillies fans are down but not in the dumps. The loss to the Giants and not making a third straight trip to the World Series was disappointing to fans but many of them are still proud of their team including Mayor Michael Nutter:
"Everything was looking well for them, the first inning up two to nothing and Oswalt pitching a great, great game. They had a number of opportunities but sometimes in sports things just don't work out."
Brian Mauer of Delaware County says he is a Phillies fan no matter what:
"I was quite happy they made the playoffs. The way they went out wasn't pretty but I've been a fan since 64'. I'm not going to go anywhere."
Mauer is looking forward to next season but he will not ignore the excitement that the Eagles and Flyers are expected to bring.
