Temple Football Brings Heater On To Run Defense
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- New Temple football coach Steve Addazio continues to assemble his staff. He has hired Chuck Heater as his new defensive coordinator.
Heater comes to Temple from Florida where he served as co-defensive coordinator. Of course he was on staff with Addazio with the Gators and says the opportunity to work again with the new Owls Head Coach is a big reason why he is at Temple.
"I have a close relationship with him and kind of hold him in high regard and have a great belief that he is going to have great success," said Heater.

Heater says he wants his defense to be aggressive. "We will probably be much more man coverage team than they've been in the past which allows you to be more aggressive up front as well. (We want to) stop the running game, be aggressive in the run stop. On third down hopefully give them some issues in trying to identify who you are and be able to get off the field on third down."
Heater has coached in 24 bowl games during his 35-year coaching career and been on staff for three teams that have won National Championships - Florida in 2007 and 2009 and Notre Dame back in 1988.
