Tanker Truck Fire Closed Part Of Atlantic City Expressway For Several Hours In Winslow Township
WINSLOW TOWNSHIP, N.J. (CBS/AP) - A section of the Atlantic City Expressway was closed for several hours after a tanker truck burst into flames. New Jersey State Police say it started when the truck blew a tire and as the driver pulled over, friction caused sparks which ignited the tanker around 1:30 a.m. Monday in the eastbound lanes in Winslow Township.
The expressway was closed eastbound between Exit 28 and Exit 33, but since reopened. Westbound lanes were closed but also reopened.
Firefighters applied foam to the tanker.
The driver was not seriously injured.
