MEDIA, Pa. (CBS) -- Your morning commute may look a bit different beginning Monday. Adjusted schedules are in effect on some SEPTA Regional Rail lines as a construction project gets underway.

The rail lines impacted by the construction are critical to connecting riders between Delaware County, Southwest Philadelphia and Center City.

Those riders are critical economic drivers for Philadelphia. Now, it looks like many of them will have to find other ways to work for the rest of the week.

If you use the Airport Line, the Media/Wawa Line or the Wilmington/Newark Line, listen up, because this construction will affect you.

The Media/Wawa Line is closed all week, while Penn Medicine Station will be closed for at least the next month.

Expect some station closures and adjusted train schedules, and you may have to take a shuttle bus as an alternative to get to your destination.

This is because SEPTA is finishing rebuilding a stretch of Regional Rail infrastructure in University City. It's the final phase of the Southwest Connection Improvement Program.

Crews will be inspecting bridges, maintaining interlocking systems and repairing and replacing rails and tunnels, some of which are 80 years old.

The work began Saturday and is expected to wrap up this upcoming Saturday.

During that time, SEPTA will be providing a shuttle bus service from 30th Street Station to Philadelphia International Airport, as well as 49th Street Station, and 33rd and Spruce.

Service advisory signs are posted at Media/Wawa station.
