Cool, cloudy Saturday with warmer weather ahead in Philadelphia area. Here's the weather forecast.
Saturday and Sunday will both be on the cooler side in the Philadelphia region with high temperatures running 7-10 degrees cooler than normal. Cloud cover, however, will hang around for most of the day Saturday before finally clearing out Saturday night.
The clearing sky, combined with the continued northwesterly wind, will drop temperatures to the upper 30s to mid-40s across the region.
While there won't be any frost concerns in the immediate Philadelphia area, there is a Freeze Watch in effect for the Poconos Saturday night into early Sunday morning.
Temperatures Sunday morning will be cool, and plan on plenty of sunshine to get the day started.
If you're running in the Broad Street Run or cheering for someone who is, it will be 45 degrees when the race starts at 7 a.m. There will be a light breeze out of the northwest.
Winds out of the northwest will increase to around 10-15 mph by midday as temperatures return to the low 60s once again.
NEXT big weather changes
After a cool first weekend in May the warm will surge back into the region for the first half of next week. Highs on Monday will be in the middle 70s with 80s on deck for Tuesday.
While it will be much warmer on Tuesday, it'll also be a bit breezy as the warmth surges in from the southwest. By Wednesday, the chance of a few showers will return with more widespread rain and even a few thunderstorms possible into Thursday.
It looks nice for the Broad Street Run with temperatures Sunday morning in the mid 40s and sunny and dry conditions.
