Wednesday's Phillies home game postponed due to poor air quality
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Phillies-Tigers game scheduled for Wednesday night has been postponed as the Philadelphia region is under a "Code Purple" air quality alert from the eastern Canada wildfires.
The game will be made up on Thursday at 6:05 p.m. Tickets from Wednesday's game will be valid for Thursday. All gates will open at 4:35 p.m.
The decision to reschedule comes after the MLB postponed the New York Yankees and Chicago White Sox game due to the hazardous air conditions. The teams will play a double-header Thursday.
The Reading Fightin Phils, Philadelphia's Double A affiliate, postponed their game vs. Binghamton. The game will be rescheduled at a later date.
The team said those who purchased tickets to Wednesday night's game vs. Binghamton may exchange their tickets for seating of equal or lesser value for any of the remaining home games, depending on availability.
For the second straight night, the Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs' game, the Phillies' Triple-A affiliate, was postponed due to the air quality.

Smoke from the wildfires blanketed the Philadelphia region Wednesday morning.
The air quality alert in the region was upgraded from " "Code Red" to "Code Purple" around 5 p.m.
A Code Red means air is " very unhealthy." This is level five on a six-point scale. The general public may experience health effects due to this level of pollution but sensitive groups will feel greater effects.
