Philadelphia Eagles Hold Third Annual Eagles Care Summit

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Philadelphia Eagles are trying to help local non-profits grow, and one way they're making it happen is by bringing everyone into the same room to share ideas.
Raising more money to do more good, that's what this summit is all about.
Eagles community relations director Julie Hirshey says the goal is for each visitor to learn something new.
"There's a lot of what we hope is hands-on, detailed information that people can walk out and go take action with," said Hirshey
"If we want to solve some of these great problems in our society, from disease to homelessness to poverty, we have to think differently about the way we let our charities invest in themselves," said author Dan Pallotta, who delivered this year's keynote address and spoke about how the word "overhead" is killing growth for many non-profits.
He says marketing matters, and so does recruitment of top talent, and he feels it's time charities started operating more like businesses in that regard.
