PA Woman Facing Charges After Allegedly Skipping $600 Cab Fare
DENVER, Pa. (CBS) – Authorities say a 44-year-old Pennsylvania woman is accused of skipping out on a $600 fare after taking a taxi cab from New York City to her home.
Police say Kelli Boyer, of Denver, Pennsylvania, is facing charges of theft of services for the alleged incident on March 27.
After arriving at her home, authorities say Boyer exited the cab, punched in the numeric code to her garage door and went inside, after allegedly telling the driver she would be back to pay the $600 fare.
The cab driver waited 15 minutes then called police.
Authorities say numerous attempts were made by responding officers to contact Boyer, and the garage door was still open and the lights were on inside of the house.
Police say she refused to answer the door or phone.
Authorities say the cab driver was able to identify Boyer from a photo and she was arrested on Monday.
